Koppel & Associates successfully litigated a workers compensation case where the insurance company wrongfully denied our client’s benefits under the law.  After convincing the judge that the claim was covered, the court awarded benefits to the worker and attorney’s fees in excess of $50,000.

Sub-specialty in cases of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy

Koppel & Associates, who over the years has developed a sub-specialty in cases of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), also known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), recently settled a 1993 workers compensation case for $1,200,000.  The client had developed RSD after knee surgery and struggled thereafter with the onset of RSD.

Koppel & Associates obtained a settlement of $1,000,000

Koppel & Associates obtained a settlement of $1,000,000 for a client who suffered a severe injury including an above the knee amputation of his leg.  He was also able to obtain a settlement for the injured client from the worker’s compensation carrier, securing a dual recovery for the client.

Broward County Circuit Court

Koppel & Associates received an attorney fee award from the Broward County Circuit Court of $60,000 in a case in which Allstate Insurance Company had refused to pay a $1,000 medical bill for one of the firm’s clients.  The bill also was paid—with interest—following trial.
